The purpose of the article, as I tried to make clear in the introduction, is not to provide 'yet another javascript library'. Rather, it is to demonstrate how some of the functions within a typical toolkit are implemented, so that you can create your own or improve on existing ones. I've tried to keep the examples short and simple, although I am sure there are better ways they could be implemented if re-usability was the goal.
