Perl support Lambda Calculus well, it is logical, it's procedural, it's object oriented, it's functional, it's TIMTOWTOI. Why use a "pure" functional language like Haskell?

Unlike dynamic/scripting languages, languages with static typing (Haskel, OCaml) catch huge number of programming errors on compilation phase.
Do not confuse it with C++/Java static typing - Haskel and OCaml usually much more expressive.
