What Does Photoshop CS3 Mean for Aperture Users?
Subject:   Should one consider lightroom rather than Aperture?

Although I've been using Aperture since it came out, I can't help wondering whether my workflow would be significantly improved by switching to Lightroom now that CS3 is available?
Doing things like "export from Aperture in RAW....open in CS3....convert to smart object....reimport to Aperture" seems like an awful lot of work to do if one has many images.

Roundtripping to CS3 for advanced editing is not "simple" from any app. I certainly would not lean toward one app over another based on this procedure.

Aperture does a very good job or playing nice with other apps... that is, when it's even necessary.

Well, my personal opinion is no. I've found that I can process the bulk of my images perfectly in Aperture (have you not found this to be the case?). It's only when I want to do fancier work with an image that I need to go to Photoshop. Yes, the 4 steps I mentioned above might be a little annoying, but they're not that bad. I'd much rather take a little annoyance there so that I can hold on to all the things that I like in Aperture on the whole :)
