I use Apache on Windows (I hate IIS) but lighty seems to be an afterthought on that system.

    I did used lighttpd on Windows.It does works and it is lightweight here as well.But if you're going to use it with Windows, keep in mind: there is some issues possible with CR+LF vs CR in config, especially in different paths.So, it works with proper hands applied but actually it is noticeable that *nix-like OSes are native for lighty :P

      I'm looking for the step by step deployment of lighttpd with resin and mongrel, so can host a JSP website and multi-ROR website. Can u give me more suggestion? Thanx.
