    I think you have the question backwards. My assumption is that I program with ASP.NET and add third party tools when they are significantly "better" than what I can get from the framework.

    Since the logging that is available with WebEvents meets my needs, and since log4net seems to contribute nothing I require and seems no easier to use (just the opposite) I can't see why I'd add a third party open-source tool when the built in solution works fine.
