I'm a classical guitarist intereted in doing some home recording. I liked the sounds on the R-09 with the external mics AKG C 1000s. WHat type of Mackie Preamp was used? Was it the Mackie Onyx Satellite? And how do you plug in the preamp to the R-09?

I was thinging about the Sony PCM-D50 but when I heard the R-09 is was much smoother in the midrange and deeper bass it was a knock out using the built in mics. It is also a bit laidback but thats that's fine with me. The more expensive units have a bit more detail
