I got a 30 gig ipod and a portable dvd player. I want to know if it's possible to see movies or podcasts over the dvd player. I have av cable and even bought an audio cable from radio shack but hasn't worked yet.

It will only work if your DVD player supports A/V-in. Many portable players only support A/V-out, if they even supply an A/V jack.

I have a portable DVD Player with an av in, but it is only a single 'hole' about the same size as the connector for the iPod in fact - not very techno babbly...what type of cable do I need to connect iPod to this? Thanks - B

What I've done with the AV jack is use two minijack-to-RCA connectors and then connect the RCA plugs via three female-female connectors. It's easier than trying to find a compatible cable. Remember when connecting the RCA plugs, you need to connect the red from the iPod to the yellow going to your DVD player, and so forth. You can find the female-female connectors at Target, Walmart and so forth.

Thanks ericasadun - sorry about delay in reply, I had expected an email notification from this website of any responses! Anyway I will certainly check this out, interestingly I found a cable with a mini-jack (must be the terminology I was lacking) either end, works for audio only it would seem. Thanks again - B
