|It sounds like your apple installe ram might be bad, If you bought apple care when you got your imac open the box and look for a cd or dvd with the red apple on it. Start up from that cd by holdinng down option and choosing the middle option (OF). It should come up with a apple system diagnostic logo and then a window to run test. If it stays on the logo screen and then brings up the firmware text at the bottom then you probably need to get new ram. Hope that helps.|
