Fantastic article: thanks.
I'd like to be able to use my USB memory stick and mouse after making this dual-boot conversion. What should I type to try the default boot from the System Rescue CD?
If I use fb800 nodetect, will Windows still recognise USB devices? If so, I suppose I could survive by transferring data from the memory stick to the FAT32 partition under Windows, and then rebooting under Linux to pick it up.

On my system, Ubuntu automatically mounts the memory stick as:
/media/usbdisk
and I can access that as though it was a standard directory on my system.
