I suggest the author of this article stick to XML because he is the last person anybody looking for an intelligent, informed voice needs when it comes to enhancing Java. Anybody got any serious suggestions for enhancing Java? He sure doesn't.

Did you even read the article? You're gripping about statements made by the author as things NOT covered in the article. There was no suggestion to remove semicolons; it was simply an example a syntactical change which would NOT fall under the scope of the article. The same can be said for his mentioning complex numbers. So, go back and read the article, the whole thing, then come back with some intelligent comments.
