I suggest the author of this article stick to XML because he is the last person anybody looking for an intelligent, informed voice needs when it comes to enhancing Java. Anybody got any serious suggestions for enhancing Java? He sure doesn't. The Complex Number class is tired and worn and he is coughing that up as his "personal" suggestion? The solution to that would be generics and operator overloading, not a naive suggestion to add one more class. The suggestion that they eliminate the need for a semicolon at the end of a line suggests is simply stupid. Java does not require a semicolon ad the end of a line. If he doesn't GET the basic notion of a statement and the ability to terminate such a construct he should not be commenting on Java at all. What you have here is some clown regurgitating a lot of old and misguided material based on pure ignorance. Do they have an "ignore" button for articles? Now there's a suggestion.

Did you even read the article? You're gripping about statements made by the author as things NOT covered in the article. There was no suggestion to remove semicolons; it was simply an example a syntactical change which would NOT fall under the scope of the article. The same can be said for his mentioning complex numbers. So, go back and read the article, the whole thing, then come back with some intelligent comments.
