Even though I agree with this article, I don't think that it will possible to change Java so much: Sun and companions are not so flexible, and exisiting software would not run on the new VMs (mobile phones now coming out e.g.) I deeply regret this. |

Making an incompatible version would only slow it's introduction.
Instead, add new class structures (like nio) so we can take advantage of them, but PLEASE DON'T BREAK MY PROGRAMS THAT WORK JUST FINE.
