While I agree with sentiments to steal good ideas from C#, and to refactor many parts of the JDK, the biggest issue for me would be a change in the Java semantics itself. After spending a short time prototyping PHP OO rather than using JSP, I have become addicted to the safe nature of having to use this-> before every member variable.
