| That pretty sums it up for Java on the desktop. As for us, we're glad that there is SWT. We've written a number of Java/SWT applications (on Windows) and some of our clients don't often know they're running a Java application until they uninstall their JRE! SWT isn't perfect but it gets better with every release. Regarding Eclipse, I think they took the right step when they decided to go with native widgets/controls. And I agree, Apple would do really good job with "JDE" (Java Desktop Edition). They'll probably come up with a nice name for it (unlike Sun). | ||
