My guess is after reading the entire article that the author has a very specific workflow, one that is shaped by past experience with Linux. Reminds me of Mac users who "hate" OS X because of their experience with Classic Mac OS and workflow dependencies on it. One difference is that some of them were forced to switch while chromatic has the luxury of making a conscious choice to use Linux.

That's true. I'm pretty fortunate that there are plenty of good choices for a Unix and Unix-like desktop. Longtime Mac OS users weren't so lucky.
