Yes, it works. It took 5 hours and 7 minutes to install Coldfusion MX on Red Hat Linux 7.2 running on Virtuell PC 5.04. I used a TiBook 667 MHz 512 Mbyte.
Some tips: If you are new to Linux/Unix Like me read the article about using the terminal at this site or in the book, Learning Unix operation sytem, O'Reilly. It's cheap and easy to read. My first problem was how to get the files from Mac to Virtual PC. The share folder did not work for me when I run Linux. My solotion was to use the native FTP client in Unix.

My best advice is to start it, wait until you get to the progress bar and then go to bed. It worked for me too, don't know how long it took sometime overnight it completed.

Only problem is that I'm getting a 404 when I try to access the administrator... Anyone have any ideas? I had to change the install path from /opt/whatever to /usr/whatever. I'm using the built in JRun server.
