Possibly contrary to some reader's thoughts, I have no problem with JDO. It is a community agreed upon, technically fit, means of abstracting persistent storage of Java objects. Put simply, it's wonderful. By utilizing both object-relational technology and JDO we can indeed achieve the best of both worlds. JDO will need some additional functionality in order to fully support object-relational technology, but that will no doubt be addressed by the adept JCP team in a future release.
