hey its very simple to recover ur comp. :)Do not Format it. u r able to see the desktop background rite??? Do as i say.... press (Ctrl-Alt-Del)and u will get the taskmanager. Then go to file - new task(run) and locate the Google Desktop Search Setup on your system. Run it.. and install it and then reboot..

yeah i had the same problem and i couldnt find it in the taskmanager so i had to go to google and type in ''google desktop search'' and had to re-download it and then i rebooted and it worked =)
