| I am looking into buying the sd200. I love the small size with large screen. But I am hesitant because I have seen many online compaints about the LCD screen cracking, and the E18 error, apparently caused by a malfunction with the lens. The complaints also state that Canon's customer service is lacking and they refuse to pay for the reapirs. Are these problems common in the sd200? I want the camera for my trip to Europe and would hate to have it break on me over there. Please let me know if I should reconsider my purchase. | ||

I took my SD200 with me to Japan and used it to take most of the photos you see in this article:
Mac DevCenter: Japan Primer for the Mac Techno-Tourist
The camera returned with me undamaged and still in operation. Of course, I placed it in a small padded case anytime I was not actually taking photos. So, that helped it avoid damaging the LCD.
