I wonder how much the new Safari of Tiger will help, as it now supports html-editing. From Dave Hyatt's Weblog: HTML Editing Safari 1.3 supports HTML editing, both at the Objective-C WebKit API level and using contenteditable and designMode in a Web page. The new Mail app in Tiger uses WebKit for message composition. You can write apps that make use of WebKit's editing technology and deploy them on Panther and Tiger. I hope for a Safari-compatible version as we would like to use Silva/ Kupu. |

The Silva version might also use Sarissa for some server interaction. Sarissa has had support for Safari 1.2's XML capabilities. Plone, though, used client-side XSLT in the drawers, and Sarissa doesn't yet support Safari's XSLT. (It isn't yet clear to me if Safari 1.3's XSLT engine has a JS interface.)
