I still doubt whether iPhot is up to that job. Do you know the app iDive? They claim to be the iPhot for movie clips. With almost 20 years of video footage, the main problem is still the required storage capacity for the original material. It is not a problem to compress it into finished products onto dvd, but that is a one-way process. Something like Apple Lossless for video would be nice!

Yes indeed I know iDive. Excellent app. But I use iDive for my footage from a DV camcorder in the DV format. This article discusses managing the QuickTime files that your digital still camera produces. Two different things completely.
