Great opening! For some time it has felt to me that OS X provides a very good platform for embedded development and all the associated stuff that goes with organizing, documenting and supporting such projects, particularly in small (tiny) work groups.
We took a run at working with the gnu tool chain for the TI MSP430 family and got fairly far but found the debugging interface awkward at best (had to use a Linux box for the gdb-proxy....)
One of the first order issues in my mind is to find a place to focus the discussion about embedded development under OS X so that we can work together to create and demonstrate a critical mass.
