I am waiting on wireless drivers for my powerbook. Then i will probably make the move and install ubuntu GNU/Linux.


I got my powerbook thinking i would get into video editing, however free software meets my day to day needs.

    Indeed, this is pretty much the major blocker for me slapping Ubuntu or Fedora Core on my iBook. I live off my wireless, thank you.

    Probably the only other important point is getting good multimedia support in Linux. That's one of the things I use OS X for a lot - trailers and movies like RedVsBlue actually play reliably in Quicktime, unlike in GStreamer/Xine/MPlayer and friends.

    I also wonder how long the battery life will be under Linux compared to OS X, and how well DRI supports the ATI video card in the machine.
