If you have your iPod connected to your Mac (or PC, I presume, as well), you can play music that is physically located on the iPod through iTunes on the Mac. You must choose Manual Sync mode in the iPod preferences to do this. |

I agree. To play songs on my iPod through my MacBook I just connect my iPod to my MacBook, open iTunes and select my iPod in the source list and play directly from there. I do this all the time. My MacBook is empty of music and my Windows PC at home and iPod hold all my music, seems a waste of time and space putting all my music on my MacBook.
