It's about time. I have not gone as far as trying to buy one, but I finally received an invitation to Gmail and can rid myself of Hotmail forever.

I had a 1 mgb limit on my Hotmail account and it was only increased to 2 mgb; so much for Hotmail; also, a site I frequent had been hacked; so I changed my personal passwords; yet in my haste, I forgot my new Hotmail password; I had this account since 2000; and have totally forgot my secret question answer; Hotmail's only solution- Tell me I could create a new account; I wrote them back a rather nasty letter telling them that creating a new account WOULD not solve the problem of needing access to the important mail stored on my account. Needless to say; a week + later I still have no reply from them.........

I just had a similar experience. After waiting (with increasing impatientience) the last few months for my Hotmail to increase from 2MB to 250MB as promised, I finally signed up yesterday for a Gmail account which somebody invited me to (NOT at my hotmail address). Within hours of signing up, I too discovered that my hotmail had been magically increased to 250MB! If MSN was trying to keep my business, it backfired - it just demonstrated that MSN has no more respect for my privacy than any other system.
