P.S. The reason why your throughput never gets anywhere near the 11mbs even with the best of possible conditions is the result of wireless frame overheads... It's not just the data that's getting whacked up and down over the wire. Each 802.11 frame has a 34byte overhead and the maximum data block that will get sent over in any one given frame will be 2312 bytes. You can see that Bandwidth (11mbs) and throughput are not the same thing.
