I got nearly to the end of your tutorial and when you said 'save the configuration file' it would not permit me to, or to even over-write the file. I checked the preferences in my text editor which seemed to allow writing and over-writing. Consequently, when i went to complete the php test it didn't show the php with the main 'Gleefully...' message. I am running OS10.2.8 on a dual boot G4, using Safari as the browser. I'm NOT technical so please use language I can understand! Thanks.

  You likely need to be logged in as root to be able to write to the httpd.conf file.

  and be careful with the commands you throw out as root/su
