IPv6 comes natively with BSD systems, such as NetBSD, FreeBSD, or OpenBSD. There are a few projects that are working on an IPv6 stack for Linux.
Take a look at http://www.kame.net and http://www.linux-ipv6.org
Part II of this article will show how to install and use IPv6 to get connected to the Internet.
