I have not found another place to ask this question. How does one subscribe to the tomcat mailing lists. When I attempt to use the subscribe button, the email server rejects the request?

The jakarta.apache.org web site has a page where you will find the links to subscribe to mailing lists. Go here to see the links for the Tomcat project. The links shown on this page make it easy to send a subscribe email that should get you started with the list(s).
