| I'm sorry but after reading this article I see no reason to move off of CVS. The alternatives are beta, customized for a particular OSS project and offer nothing over CVS. Did I miss something here?? | ||

You missed quite a lot apparently. Subversion for instance is basically CVS with a lot of its problems fixed like the inability to move/rename files without losing versioning history and also slow operations like branching.
