It was very exiting for me to read this article - I am doing XP (and sometimes fighting for it) almost all my professional life - close to 30 years - in many different areas. And every time it helped to make software faster and better. Starting development early in parallel with design not just saving time. It also: - helps to find some design errors/problems earlier, - serves as a proof that design decisions can be implemented, - help create demos and prototypes with minimum additional cost. Working in pairs is also very helpful - though I almost did not have this opportunity since I moved to the USA.
