open source crap? whatever dude! hey, POI is pretty good, but I think if you want a really good Java Excel tool with commercial support, F1 is way too limited and expensive. THERE ARE OTHER OPTIONS! We use and recommend the Java Excel API ExtenXLS, which you can download here from Extentech's web site at: http://www.extentech.com/estore/product_detail.jsp?product_group_id=1 This tool is so slick and works so well, we've never even needed support!

We tried ExtenXLS and it just didn't scale well. It often corrupted files and just didn't do what we needed. POI worked great for us.
