In this case, that would not help because the problem created by installing the old version of the macam driver is global, not related to a particular user...

  still, its useful to do this anyway, because if for instance your finder prefs get corrupted you may enter a login/finder crash/login... loop. if you don't have another account you will have to boot into single user mode to delete the finder prefs in your 'main' account and that is a pain in the butt...
