Whilst I don't disagree with the majority of the article I do think that deciding to classify a 'stereotype' as a 'myth' is incorrect.
All of these points are true in some circumstances, or can become true at any point in a projects lifespan. Sure, in many many cases none of the above will happen, and a small one-man project will be doomed to obscurity.
But the other extreme can happen just as often.
(Oh, I do disagree with 'End users love tracking CVS' being a myth. Out of the 4 OSS projects I administer, all of our dedicated userbase tracks CVS :)
