This was, after all, an article about Desktop Linux distributions, not distributions for programmers, code freaks, hackers, servers, or whatnot. Desktops. Which means that the end user should be able to expect a certain standard for what is included and how it should work.
If Linux never makes it to the desktop, it will be mainly because of the people who think they are oh-so smart because they run Linux, and because they childishly insult people who dare to think about the computing experience as a whole.
