This is exactly the justification for a decent color screen on the iPod. You could then transfer your pictures to the iPod to store them, or preview the pictures, or watch a slide show (with music or narration of course). It wouldn't cost much more, but everyone with a digital camera is going to want one. The only major decision Apple will have to make is which memory card to support (CompactFlash, SmartMedia, Secure Digital, Memory Stick, or MultiMediaCards). A 6-1 multi-device is probably too big for the iPod, so maybe 2 or 3 models may be needed (match the camera or PDA that you own). Or they can try to pick or force one standard. I hope Apple comes out with this soon...
