Is there anyway to use USB 2.0 to accomplish the same tasks? I know there are USB 2.0 data bridge cables available but they all require drivers and there are no OS X.X drivers that I know of. I am primarily interested in a cross platform connection, Mac to XP.

  I am not aware of any Mac OS X enabled cable yet. You might be better off using FireWire (if your PC has it) for data transfer.

  I'm not shure if I should buy a pci card for my pc with 3 firewire ports, so that I can connect it to my powerbook (superdrive, OSX) via firewire. The idea is to transfer files (for now. maybe internet Cable later).
