I tried this once (with firewall off) and a password for Image Capture websharing. Now I have turned off websharing and turned off the password. But when I try to connect to the other Mac it continues to ask me for a password. This is clearly a bug.

  Yeah, that's the way it seems to me too.
  
  At the moment, I would also avoid using the password function all together.
