It's great to have something clear and digestible about JSF and to have the full set of source files that work "out of the box". The article had just enough robustness to provide a good, rich example but not so much as to overwhelm the reader.

The JWSDP JSF tutorial, in my view, doesn't measure up to this article in terms of quality of explanation and example.

I loaded the files to a project directory with my own build.xml and build.properties, built the project, then deployed it to a Tomcat 5.0.12 server on my machine. That all worked perfectly and enabled me to test in a more production-type environment independent of JWSDP.

The author is to be complemented on the quality of his code (including supporting files) and the rigorous consistency of indentation.

JSF v. Struts v. ASP v. .NET v. whatever aside, the author did a superb job of explaining JSF.
