Oh really? I'm a debian man myself, and I think you're full of it. Sure, the official debian repositories are great--if you can stick with them and only them. Ever try to get decent 3D gaming working on debian with, say, a Radeon 8500? Now THAT'S annoying. -

No, but i have with a Geforce 4400 and it worked fine after no time.
