You'll never regret it, and as long you are ok with 6 cds of packages you can forget every dependency problem.

very true - Debian's apt-get is the most trouble free and hassle free package management in the whole world. Debian really rulez!!

Try apt for rpm

apt has been ported to work with rpm packages. It can be downloaded from
http://freshrpms.net/apt/
and from
http://www-ccrma.stanford.edu/planetccrma/software/installapt.html
It's well worth mastering how to configure it.

Oh really? I'm a debian man myself, and I think you're full of it. Sure, the official debian repositories are great--if you can stick with them and only them. Ever try to get decent 3D gaming working on debian with, say, a Radeon 8500? Now THAT'S annoying.
