| I wonder if Oreilly misses the point of linux and open source. If something is annoying, it usually gets fixed. The only annoying things about linux are the things you can't fix...And what is that? | ||

OK, I have one - I need a Macromedia flash player so I can listen to radio broadcasts from the BBC. I running Mandrake 9.1 on an iMac DV SE 400. Oh, that´s a PowerPC engine in there .. Macromedia have players for Linux/x86, Sparc, MacOs, Wintel .... and *no* player for Linux/PPC. I can´t fix it -I just have to wait, send Macromedia e-mails regularly, get dumb answers like ¨please check on our website for a download for your client¨ .. -

That's not a Linux Annoyance, thats a Macromedia annoyance.

It's easy to get "aloof" and say that X11 way is better the Windows way, but since most people who might otherwise move to Linux would be ex-Windows, if it's not natural for them, then it's annoying.
