  It's actually a funny story. I was at deadline for turning in the photos for the Digital Video Pocket Guide, and had a shoot lined up for the Saturday before Easter. My model didn't show and I was really feeling the pressure. I couldn't reach any of the others I had worked with in the past. I remembered that the woman who made my sandwich at the local deli earlier that day was quite attractive. I loved her red hair.
  
  So, I took a deep breath and went back. I approached her boss and explained my predicament. Her boss said it was OK if I talked to her, which I did, and she agreed to help me the next day... Easter morning!
  
  She's actually a theater major moving to Santa Cruz with her boyfriend. If you like the shots in this article (that are also in the book), you'll love the portraits of her on page 13 of the Pocket Guide. She looks smashing.
