Running Arbitrary Scripts Under CVS

...a good commit emailer is the Python script "syncmail" - It can be used to send an email containing a diff on each commit.

We use it here - - and find it's quite helpful to keep track of what's going on without having to do cvs diffs and cvs logs and such...

    Check the article CVS Third Party Tools or the appendices of Essential CVS for extra CVS add-ons, scripts and things. I haven't found them all, by any means, but I have listed quite a few.

    Another good one is cvsspam (
    it does html full color context diffs, links to bugzilla bugs, and links to ViewCVS (I modified it to use CVSweb pretty easily)
