Once the entity bean instance is used in a transaction, it means it has an identity associated with it (=> it represents a specific row of a DB for example) and is thus no more in the pool. Consequently, only this particular entity bean instance is locked: there is no reason why entities in the pool (that are associated with NO identity) should be locked. Cheers, sacha
