My Sharp Zaurus (C700) recognized it immediately:


Bromax OEM 11Mbps 802.11b WLAN Card (Prism 2.5)


The Hostap linux drivers recognized it, but I think the prism firmware (1.4.2 station, 1.1.0 primary) needs updating since the AP doesn't appear elsewhere.


One thing is that iwconfig/iwlist showed all channels including 12-14 - they are only restricted by the AP hardware or the config software, so be carefult not to violate the FCC rules. Of course you would need another similarly open to be able to connect (though I've heard reports of some cards seeing the extra channels at a lowered data rate or signal strength).

    BroMax drivers don't work for me. Maybe some are LinkSys, others are BroMax?
