I hope that everyone will get to know what stage their entry got to (and whatever comments/feedback the judges may have). I'd suggest that finalists have the option of getting the fame by having that annouced then and forsaking entry into the next round - or that they hold off on the fame until the end and thus retain their right to enter the next round.

Also, re: the rules: there was no indication that the entry description was going to count so much regarding how far along the entry would get. For the next round, please be sure the rules state as much (it is possible an entry would have won but just had a bad description on the form because the entrant didn't realize it would count as judging criteria).

Your suggestions are noted. Thanks for your feedback.

Certainly the next round of this contest will reflect the things we've learned in this round, such as adding an International category, adjusting the notification process, and some other details.

As for not knowing that the description is important... Well, to me, that's like saying that "I didn't know the software packaging influenced sales."

    It is all important.

The competition is stiff for these events, and every aspect of the entry is critical, just like in the real business world.
