Mtree is installed by default on Free, Net and OpenBSD, and has been around for quite sometime now, making its first appearance in 4.3BSD-Reno. Although you can question it's reliability as everything is stored in /etc/mtree, it still is a good start for file integrity checking once you add aditional security measurements such as increased security levels and readonly filesystems. |
