I'm using Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; FreeBSD i386; en-US; rv:1.3b) Gecko/20030320 and the code samples came out unformatted.

That is, each line in the code samples starts flush against the line number.

This rendered the code samples basically useless.

Fortunately, the bit that was new to me was client-side handling, and the HTML code sample was simple enough to follow.

Others may not be so lucky.

    As you can see from other posters, the code wasn't much worth reading to begin with, so not much lost.

    And please, O'Reilly author, lose that asinine coding style of "if (null == xxxx)..." Yes, I know why you do it, no I've never been bitten by it.

      I have seen this style used in some code examples. Could you tell me the reason behind this using this style
