You should leave it in AddressBook's directory [where the archive unzipping process put it].
Here is a quote from the article: There is no need to put AddressBook's development directory anywhere special -- I recommend that you put it somewhere in your home directory structure.
I keep mine in "/Users/paul/Documents/Web Applications" - you may be using a different OS, or may organise your home directory differently.
