1) As far as I know, NGPT and NPTL are both API
compatible with the Posix standards. So once the
libc, kernel, and compiler stuff stablizes, you can
just link to one or the other library and headers
and easily compare and evaluate.


2) The signal and thread PID problems are fixed
in both approaches; each thread has the same PID etc.


3) Solaris 9 indeed has gone over to 1:1, and their white paper does explain why.
